Short description :The museum of F. Trasuns „Kolnasāta” was founded in 1992 in order to preserve and promote the memory of pastor, politician, cultural and social worker Francis Trasuns, his kin, contemporaries and rural territory Sakstagals. Visitors are offered the following exhibitions: „The life and activities of Francis Trasuns”, „Jānis Klīdzējs from Sakstagals till California”. There are also some more exhibitions, for example, „Ancient household objects” and „Collection of shawls”. In „Kolnasāta”, there is an opportunity to see the Latgalian farmstead culture and use the fire place, swings and sit in the gazebo. The museum offers a popular pedagogical program „Wedding in Latgale” with participation of the folklore group „Kolnasāta”. Visitors also are offered the rooms with the equipment for various events in the exhibition hall (150 seats) and the hall with a fireplace. Every year the museum offers the thematic exhibitions, historical expeditions, annual festivals, singing and meditation in Advent and Lent. The Trasuns reunions and the museum anniversary in August have already become the traditions of „Kolnasāta”. Pupils are offered several educational excursions. In January, there is „Remembrance of freedom struggles”. In October F. Trasuns has a birthday therefore the visitors can participate in the excursion „Visiting F. Trasuns memorial places in Rēzekne”. The excursion „Life of Jānis Klīdzējs” includes 5 objects in Sakstagals and Kantinieki rural territories.
