Short description: Art Nouveau gem of Latgale. It was built in the early 20th century as a place for art and music. Over the decades it experienced historic change, becoming a school, military headquarters, then school again, parish administration and library. At last in 2015 - reborn anew to inspire and become a true home for MUSE.

Adamovas Manor (ancient name – Adamhof, Odumova)

Short description : Adamovas Manor (ancient name – Adamhof, Odumova) is the cultural monument of the state importance. It has two well preserved buildings of the 19th century. The Manor was built in 1851. Landlords Korfs, Žemčužņikova and Karaulovs were the owners of the manor. A mineral spring was discovered there in 1905. It was named in the honour of St. Helena. Mineral water gained the highest awards in London in 1912 and in 1913 in Paris. Currently, there is no mineral spring anymore. However, there is Adamova sanatorium boarding-school for children with psychoneurological illnesses. In 2006, a modern sports complex was built for organizing national sports competitions. Short description: Bikovas Manor. The name of this manor is listed in the chronicle since the 17th century. You should see the manor house and the park where you can find a stone chapel that was built in 1820, servant’s house, several household buildings and stablings. After the fire of 1905, the building was reconstructed and the second floor was built. Since 1937, the manor is serving as Gaigalava basic school. According to the legend, there are secret passages that lead to the church and the cemetery. The building is the architectural monument of local.

Short description: The Crucifix of Kurpinīki is known also as the place where Janis Streičs shot some scenes of the his popular movie „The Child of a Man”. The crucifix was situated in the courtyard of Donats Klīdzējs. His grandson, famous writer Jānis Klīdzējs lived in the USA and wrote the book „The Child of a Man”.

Monument „Carrier of the Cross”

Short description: Monument „Carrier of the Cross”. Statue of Christ carrying His Cross is placed on a high pedestal of the pyramid shape. The pedestal was built in 1828 by dean and writer Jāzeps Kirkillo from Rezekne. In 1918, the monument was renovated. The new statue was placed in 1918. The monument was rebuilt once again in 1990.

Short description: In 1792, a small castle on the hill Priežukalns (Kirkas kalns) was rebuilt into Lutheran Church. Nowadays, the hill is still called Kirkas kalns (in German „Kirche” means church). Old people say- under the church there is a big cellar where the jewelry of church is hidden.

The Castle hill of Milka

Short description: The castle hill of Milka is located near Lake Salāja and the Malta river; 27 m above the lake level. Local businessman cleaned the hill and placed the statue of Our Lady there which symbolizes Latgale’s inhabitants strong faith into God and Virgin Mary.
